The Old Bridgewater Historical Society exists to promote education and research relating to the original township of Bridgewater, its inhabitants, and its history by collecting, preserving, exhibiting, and interpreting materials, artifacts, and information pertaining to "Old Bridgewater". We want to share the history of Bridgewater Massachusetts with you.

The Memorial Building was built on land donated by Francis E. Howard, a descendant of one of Bridgewater’s earliest settlers. It was built for the sole purpose of housing the Old Bridgewater Historical Society and their antiquities.

The Keith House was the home of Reverend James Keith and is believed to be the oldest existing parsonage in the United States. It was built by the town in 1662 to house Rev. Keith and his family. During King Philip's War in 1675 and 1676 it was used as a garrison house.
